Equestrian Property Advice

Planning Applications

Submitting planning applications and negotiating with all parties to ensure the best outcome for equestrian property owners and businesses

Navigating the planning system can be a tortuous and time-consuming process for you. From assessing the full potential of the building or site, developing the case, preparing and submitting the application, through the shepherding process, gaining support from all 3rd parties, through to negotiating the final detail, we use our expertise and experience to get the very best outcome for you.

In addition to advising you on the best route to achieve approval, we write and submit the application on your behalf, as well as a supporting statement, help you to shape and develop plans, and act as your representative in all discussions, presentations and site meetings. We will support and help you from shaping an idea through to final interpretation of the approval and advice on implementation post-approval.

Planning permission is required for most new buildings or facilities, including:

  • Stable yards
  • Hay barns
  • Manѐges or open air arenas
  • Indoor arenas
  • Horse walkers
  • Equestrian workers dwellings
  • Yard receptions/offices
  • Trailer/lorry parking areas
  • Cross country courses

Our experience has taken us into a wide range of equestrian properties and enterprises from the smallest, private yards, through helping on-farm cross country/chaser courses, livery yards, riding schools, polo yards, hunt kennels and multi-facility equestrian centres, to large scale horse racing yards and breeding units.
