Securing planning permission for new buildings or change of use of an existing building on behalf of land and property owners

Navigating the planning system can be a tortuous and time-consuming process. We have extensive experience of helping land and property owners to gain planning permission for new buildings as well as change of use of existing property. Successful schemes have ranged from conversion of existing buildings (such as barn conversions for residential or commercial use), through infill development, single house sites and new farm buildings to land for residential development.

Recent changes to Permitted Development Rights have opened up greater possibilities for diversification and new dwellings, particularly in rural and on-farm settings.

For all planning applications there are a number of stages to the planning process, which we navigate on your behalf:

  • Assessing the full potential of the building or site
  • Developing the case to the Local Planning Authority
  • Preparing and submitting the application
  • Monitoring and shepherding the application
  • Gaining support from all parties
  • Negotiating with Local Planning Authorities
  • Securing final permission
  • Report to client, advising on conditions of planning permission
We monitor and report on the project progress, which generally takes from 8 to 16 weeks to complete (although for large scale developments, will take significantly longer).
